In cities across Kentucky there are hundreds of festivals each year. Some celebrate history, agriculture, art, horses, food, holidays, community and different types of music. These festivals help bring people together and can produce revenue (or money) for the community that hosts them. In Kentucky, annual festivals such as those that are celebrated with the Kentucky Derby are well known all over the world. Other cool Kentucky festivals include Owensboro's International Bar-B-Q Festival, London's World Chicken Festival, and the oldest bluegrass music festival in the state: Lexington's The Festival of the Bluegrass.
